President-elect Obama Once Supported Gay Marriage!

With President-Elect Obama’s inauguration set for a week from today, it would behoove us as Gay Americans to fully understand what this man that we all worked so hard to elect, really feels about marriage equality. The following article reported on PageOneQ.com and set to run tomorrow in the Windy City Times tells the story of a chameleon and an opportunist who has already thrown us under the bus with McClurkin and with Warren. And like every other elected oContinue

Mrs. Kramer vs. Mrs. Kramer

new research shows need to educate parents to act appropriately when their child comes out to them as LGBT.

Young gay Californians whose parents reacted negatively when they revealed their sexual orientation were more likely to commit suicide, experience severe clinical depression and use drugs than those whose families accepted the news. San Francisco State University launches parent awareness training.

Marketing YOU Web 2.0 Style

It's a fact that job hunters and recruiters are abandoning the large job posting boards in favor of online networking. The reasons?

1)The large job boards are ineffective for both sides of the equation.
2) Recruiters complain that they get spammed with thousands of resumes and less than 1% of them are qualified candidates.
3) The reason for this is because large jobs boards encourage mass emailing of applications and resumes as if volume is quality.
4) However, candidates typically don't… Continue

Call Me Little Bridget is all about all things being equal. We have designed our T's to be fashionable with a slice of GLBTQ advocacy. We want everyone to understand that to be GLBTQ is no big deal, we are all part of the same fabric and that we all have our place in this world. Newsweek Cover: Gay Marriage and the Bible

"Opponents of gay marriage often cite Scripture. But what the Bible teaches about love argues for the other side."

So says the Newsweek cover story, and indeed, the article provides an articulate example of the long accepted premise that you can use the Bible to support virtually any position on virtually any subject. It makes for interesting reading, but it pales in comparison to the reader comments that have been posted.

Letter to The Denver Post..." Thanks, but No Thanks to Civil Unions!"

Thanks to the Post for their editorial calling for civil unions for Gays couples.
“Thanks, but no thanks!” When I married my partner at the Metropolitan Community Church of the Rockies in 2004, I did not sign up for a civil union. When Referendum I was on the ballot in 2006, I voted “NO” because I did not want a civil union and I celebrated it’s defeat. When my partner and I were legally married in California four months ago, we pledged our love in marriage, not in a civil union. When thousands… Continue

Same Arguments, Different Issues - a word from Dr. Blumenfeld

This is a nugget of wisdom we thought you all might like to read...

As the national and international spotlight currently shines upon Iowa as the Iowa Supreme Court has taken up the Varnum v. Brien case for same-sex marriage, some who oppose marriage equality for same-sex couples claim that this would undermine the sanctity of marriage, and possibly lead to the destruction of society, often using religious sanctions as their justification.

For example, responding to Vermont’s Civil Unions legi… Continue
